Invitation to tender for the Sustainability Standards Resource Centre

On behalf of Schweizerische Eidgenossenschaft (SECO), Sustainable Trade Initiative (IDH), Utz Certified and 4 C Association, Hivos is pleased to invite you to tender for the Sustainability Standards Resource Centre (SSRC). If you match the profile of the desired implementing agency and are capable of delivering the services required in the Terms of Reference, you will be invited to tender. If you do not qualify, we would still be very grateful if you could send the invitation to anyone in your network you think would have a good chance.  The proposed Resource Centre consists of an internet platform with the following services:

  • A one-stop-shop library with practical and copyright/distribution free tools
  • Community rating / review functionality of available documents mentioned under 1 (TOR)
  • A Yellow Pages ‘find & be found’ spot for providers and clients of capacity building services
  • A Community of Practice (CoP) portal for knowledge exchange and (moderated) discussion of relevant issues
  • An interactive calendar for workshops and training sessions (community-managed)
  • Links to existing websites like the ISEAL library, the ITC standards map, e-learning resources, and others

Profile of the implementing agency

The minimum qualifications required for the implementing agency are:

  • Neutrality and independence concerning specific voluntary standards and field-level projects
  • Institutional capacity to run the resource centre for a period of at least 10 years
  • Familiarity with sustainable agriculture capacity building networks in developing countries
  • Proven track record in cost-effective IT design and management, including the use of open source software
  • Experience with working in a multi-stakeholder setting
  • Experience with programme management, M&E, reporting and financial administration.
